Originally incorporated in 1985 under the name Chesterfield Alternatives Inc, Enduring Spaces is a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing attainable housing for all.
In partnership with local communities, Enduring Spaces creates sustainable living environments that support independence and a sense of belonging to the residents.

Our Focus
Our primary focus is serving underserved populations, including individuals with mental, developmental, and substance use disabilities and disorders.
Through collaboration with various partners, we strive to provide safe, affordable housing that empowers individuals to live fulfilling lives with dignity and support.
Our Homes
Over the past 30+ years, Enduring Spaces has partnered with Federal and State governments, foundations, civic organizations, and individuals to bring twenty-one homes into operation.
These homes currently provide safe and affordable, permanent housing to over 100 low-income individuals with mental health challenges, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders.

1986Chesterfield Alternatives, Inc. (CAI), was incorporated as a 501 (c) 3, public charity, in 1986.

1991Purchased 2 houses to support Chesterfield Community Services Board’s (CSB) mental health (MH) and Intellectually Disabled (ID) clients: 1 group home, 1 independent living

1993Purchased 3 houses to support Chesterfield CSB MH and ID clients: 2 group houses, 1 independent living

1994Purchased 4 homes to support Chesterfield CSB MH and ID clients: 3 group houses, 1 independent living

2010Partnered with Chesterfield County Schools Build-a-Home program to construct 1 house to be used as a group home for CSB clients
